Privacy policy

This policy explains how Dabe collects, uses, shares, and protects information in our HVAC estimate widgets, booking workflows, admin tools, and related services.

Scope and roles

This Privacy Policy applies to Dabe websites, estimate widgets, booking workflows, dashboards, APIs, and related services (the "Services").

For company admins, Dabe generally acts as the business that provides the Services. For homeowner information submitted through a company-specific estimate or booking flow, Dabe may process that information on behalf of the HVAC company that receives the lead or booking request.

Information we collect

  • Contact information, such as name, email address, phone number, company name, and mailing or service address.
  • Home and HVAC information, such as system type, issue selections, diagnostic answers, replacement preferences, square footage or property context, service area, selected package, estimate range, and appointment preferences.
  • Account information for company admins, such as login details, role, company membership, configuration activity, and support requests.
  • Booking information, such as requested date, time window, service details, source, notes, session ID, status, and external booking identifiers when an integration is enabled.
  • Analytics and device information, such as page or widget events, quote starts, quote views, booking starts, booking completions, drop-off signals, browser type, device type, timestamps, referring page, and approximate location inferred from service address or IP-related data.
  • Content and configuration submitted by Customers, including service catalogs, pricing, replacement systems, rebates, financing assumptions, service areas, photos, certifications, and booking integration settings.

Sources of information

We collect information directly from company admins and homeowners, automatically through the Services, and from third-party services used to provide estimates, booking, analytics, authentication, and integrations.

For example, address autocomplete may use Google Places, property lookup may use ATTOM, account and database services may use Supabase, and booking or CRM handoff may use ServiceTitan when enabled by a Customer.

How we use information

  • Provide, maintain, secure, and troubleshoot the Services.
  • Generate HVAC repair and replacement estimate context based on Customer configuration and homeowner inputs.
  • Route booking requests, appointment details, and lead context to the relevant HVAC company.
  • Authenticate admins, manage company-scoped access, and support account administration.
  • Measure funnel performance, quote activity, booking conversion, service demand, and product reliability.
  • Improve product workflows, documentation, support, and data validation.
  • Comply with legal obligations, enforce our terms, prevent abuse, and protect rights, safety, and security.

How we share information

We share homeowner information with the HVAC company associated with the widget or booking flow so that company can follow up, confirm appointments, provide estimates, and perform requested services.

We share information with service providers that help us operate the Services, including hosting, database, authentication, storage, analytics, logging, support, address autocomplete, property data, and booking integrations.

We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect rights and security, in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, or with your direction or consent.

Third-party services

Dabe may use Supabase for authentication, database, and storage; Google Places for address autocomplete; ATTOM for property data; and ServiceTitan for booking or CRM handoff when enabled by a Customer. These services process information under their own terms and privacy practices where applicable.

Google address features are provided under Google's applicable terms, including the Google Maps Platform Terms and Google Privacy Policy.

Cookies, analytics, and browser storage

Dabe uses cookies, localStorage, session storage, and similar technologies to keep sessions working, remember preferences, preserve in-progress widget flows, support admin navigation, and measure product performance.

Analytics events help Customers understand quote starts, quote views, booking starts, booking completions, device type, service demand, and drop-off trends. Dabe does not currently use this data to sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Retention

We keep information for as long as reasonably needed to provide the Services, maintain business records, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, comply with legal obligations, and support legitimate security or operational needs.

Customers may request deletion or export of company data subject to their agreement with Dabe, technical limits, legal retention requirements, and the need to preserve security, audit, or transaction records.

Security

We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information from unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure.

No online service can guarantee absolute security. Customers are responsible for managing authorized users, protecting credentials, configuring integrations securely, and promptly notifying Dabe of suspected unauthorized access.

Your choices

  • You can choose not to provide certain information, but some estimate, booking, support, or admin features may not work without it.
  • You can use browser controls to block or delete cookies and local storage, although doing so may reset preferences or interrupt sessions.
  • Company admins may access and update company configuration through the dashboard.
  • Homeowners may contact the relevant HVAC company about service communications or customer records created after a booking request.

California privacy rights

California residents may have rights to know, access, correct, delete, and receive information about certain personal information, and to opt out of sale or sharing where applicable. California residents also have the right not to receive discriminatory treatment for exercising privacy rights.

Dabe does not currently sell personal information or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. If that changes, we will update this policy and provide required opt-out mechanisms.

To submit a privacy request, email hello@dabe.io. We may need to verify your request and authority to act on behalf of another person. If your request concerns homeowner information controlled by an HVAC company, we may direct the request to that company or assist them in responding.

Children

The Services are intended for adults and businesses. Dabe does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child provided personal information to Dabe, contact us so we can review and take appropriate action.

Changes and contact

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new last updated date.
